Newport, Oregon

Newport, Oregon, on the central coast, is known for its maritime heritage, and coastal scenery. The Yaquina Bay Bridge completed in 1936 is one of the most recognized bridges in the state and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Newport's historic bayfront is filled with eclectic mix of shops, art galleries, and seafood restaurants.  The sight of seals lounging on the docks is a delightful spectacle, as these curious creatures often draw crowds with their playful barks. The bayfront's working fishing fleet adds to the authentic maritime atmosphere, providing fresh catches that supply the town's many seafood eateries. One of the town's culinary treasures is Mo's Clam Chowder, a beloved eatery that has been serving hearty seafood dishes since 1946. Mo's original location on Newport's historic bayfront offers guests a panoramic view of Yaquina Bay. The clam chowder, famed for its creamy texture and savory flavor, has become a symbol of Newport's vibrant food culture.
