Located along Route 66, Gallup, New Mexico is a haven for travelers seeking a blend of Native American culture, outdoor adventure, and a nostalgic trip through America's mid-20th-century roadside history.

Gallup’s vintage signage harkens back to the 1950s and 60s, the golden age of Route 66. As travelers drive through the city, they are greeted by neon signs, classic motels, and retro diners that preserve the spirit of the highway.

The El Rancho Hotel, known as the "Home of the Movie Stars," with its grand neon sign and historic interiors hosted numerous Hollywood stars. The historic Rex Museum, housed in a former brothel, has exhibits on the region's history and the significance of Route 66.

The town is surrounded by Navajo, Zuni, and Hopi reservations, making it a central hub for indigenous art and traditions. Trading posts and galleries that showcase exquisite Native American jewelry, pottery, rugs, and other crafts. The Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial, held annually in August, is a major event that celebrates Native American culture through traditional dances, music, rodeos, and arts and crafts.

The nearby Red Rock Park features towering sandstone cliffs and hiking trails that offer panoramic views of the surrounding area. The High Desert Trail System provides a network of trails for mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding.
