A quick stop for gas on Route 66 led us into the 1.2 square mile town of McLean, Texas which happens to be on the National Register of Historic Places. This remote town makes the most of its location and turned out to be a great place to walk around, stretch our legs and explore the many murals both big and small. The Devil’s Rope Museum gives its visitors a greater appreciation of the invention of barbed wire, its diversity of uses and shapes and its impact on the development of the Old West.
